In the Mirror of Time: My Poetry Journey

Welcome to My Poetry Blog!Hello and welcome! If you’re reading this, it means we already have something in common—a love for words, emotions, and the magic of poetry. I’m Vandana Baluni and this is my little corner of the internet, where I’ll be sharing my thoughts, feelings, and poems with you. I’ve always believed that poetry is more than just rhymes and verses—it’s a way to express what we often struggle to say out loud.Through this blog, I hope to share my journey of self-discovery through poetry. Whether you’re someone who loves reading poems, writing them, or just looking for a place where words feel like home, you’re in the right place.

How I Fell in Love with Poetry

Let me start by telling you a little story about how poetry found me.I wasn’t always a poet. In fact, I used to struggle with expressing myself. There were days when I had so much to say but couldn’t find the right words. It was frustrating. Then, one day, I stumbled upon a poem—just a short, simple one. But something about it moved me. It felt as if the writer had taken the words right out of my heart and placed them on paper. That’s when I realized: poetry has a way of speaking for us, even when we can’t.I decided to try writing a poem myself. At first, my words felt clumsy, and my lines didn’t make much sense. But the more I wrote, the more I started to enjoy it. Poetry became my escape, my way of understanding my emotions.Over time, writing poetry helped me through heartbreak, self-doubt, and moments of joy. It became a part of me, like a best friend who always listens. And now, I want to share that with you.

What You’ll Find on This Blog, I created this blog as a space where poetry lovers—beginners, seasoned writers, or just readers—can come together.

A Poem Close to My HeartTo give you a taste of my poetry, here’s a poem that means a lot to me:In the Mirror of Time

In the stillness of the night,I trace my reflection in verses,A mosaic of laughter and longing,Echoes of love that never faded. The past whispers through silent pages,Stories half-told, dreams half-chased,Yet here I stand, unbroken,Finding myself in the mirror of time.

This poem reflects my belief that poetry is a mirror—it shows us who we were, who we are, and who we’re becoming. It helps us understand ourselves better, and sometimes, it gives us the answers we didn’t even know we were looking for.

Why Poetry Matters

Some people might wonder: Why write poetry? Isn’t it just words arranged in a fancy way?For me, poetry is more than just writing—it’s a way to feel, to heal, and to connect.Poetry captures emotions in ways that regular sentences often can’t.It helps us process our thoughts, especially when we’re overwhelmed. It connects people. Have you ever read a poem and thought, Wow, that’s exactly how I feel? That’s the power of poetry—it reminds us that we’re not alone.Poetry isn’t just for writers. It’s for anyone who has ever felt something deeply and wanted to put it into words. If you’ve ever written a diary entry, scribbled lyrics, or even just sent a heartfelt message to someone—you’ve already touched poetry without realizing it.

Starting Your Own Poetry Journey

If you’ve ever wanted to write poetry but felt unsure, let me tell you: there are no rules. Poetry is freedom. It doesn’t have to rhyme, it doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be real. Here are a few simple ways to start:Write What You Feel – Start with emotions. Write about a happy memory, a tough day, or a dream you had.Use Your Senses – Describe things you see, hear, or feel. Even a cup of coffee can inspire a poem!Keep It Simple – Don’t stress about fancy words. Some of the best poems are the simplest ones.Read Poetry – The more you read, the more inspired you’ll be to write.Try Freewriting – Set a timer for 5 minutes and write without stopping. See what comes out.If you ever feel stuck, don’t worry! I’ll be sharing poetry prompts and ideas here to help you.
