In a small village in the mountains, Maria was born and raised. Although she is from an unfortunate background & since childhood has been doing odd jobs to make ends meet. Maria, who is determined to find a painting elder except for later on no matter how difficult it was.
Maria would hurry back to her little room after having cleaned things up and completed for the day & begun painting by a lone wax taper every night. The colors and strokes were all she needed to worry about as that would make her lose herself and forget of everything painful.

Maria spent years practicing and honing her craft, and she did not go unnoticed. Her work was discovered by a local art teacher, who then began to mentor her. Maria’s art blossomed under the guidance of her teacher and soon she started to exhibit paintings at some local galleries.
However, as Maria was seemingly cruising towards a career breakthrough she suffered a bitter blow. A fire in her village burned down Kathleen’s home, art studio and paintings.
